House of War:

Shelter From the Storm

Event Description:

We cordially invite you to "House of War: Shelter From the Storm," an innovative and poignant live weekly event series intended to serve as a beacon of hope for all those affected by the events and aftermath of the October 7th tragedy in Israel. It is meant to provide refuge for Israelis and Jews across the diaspora as well as their supporters, who were deeply scarred by the harrowing atrocities of Hamas.

This series, accessible through a wide array of social media platforms such as YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and Twitch, aims to establish a supportive and empathetic community for those seeking to share their feelings about the trauma they experienced as a result of this event, and start on a journey towards healing and understanding from the profound shock and horror that ensued.

The October 7th Massacre stands as a somber reminder of the fragility of peace and the potential for unfathomable violence, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts and minds of countless individuals. It was not merely an attack on physical beings but an attempted genocide aiming to erase a liberal democracy, a culture, a religion, a history, an identity, and an entire race of people. The repercussions of this day extend far beyond the immediate loss of life, permeating the very essence of Jewish existence in Israel and throughout the diaspora, instilling a pervasive sense of vulnerability and grief that may linger for decades to come. Mosab Hassan Yousef said of the October 7th Massacre that he fears Israelis and Jews have not yet awakened to the fact that they have undergone a genocide. It seems that the world has ignored this fact completely.

In response to this catastrophic event, each session of "House of War: Shelter From the Storm" will endeavor to feature insights from an array of experts specializing in trauma, psychology, and various healing modalities. These professionals are dedicated to assisting participants in navigating their complex emotions, fostering a sense of peace and resilience in the face of such adversity. Our overarching mission is to cultivate an environment conducive to open dialogue, where every individual's experience is validated, and their pain genuinely acknowledged, thereby lighting a path towards recovery and empowerment.

This initiative transcends the traditional confines of a live event in that it is a vital movement aimed at healing a deep wound in the Jewish collective consciousness. It represents a collective endeavor to assemble a supportive community around those in dire need of comfort and understanding, facilitating an atmosphere of solidarity and hope.

It's important to highlight that this live event incorporates an interactive component, enabling a vibrant exchange between speakers and the audience through various social media platforms. Participants are encouraged to engage, share their narratives, and pose questions, contributing to a dynamic and inclusive conversation. For our younger speakers (below 21), a parental consent form is required prior to speaking, ensuring a thoughtful and responsible participation process in which parents' wishes are respected.

Moreover, stringent moderation policies will be in place to ensure a secure and supportive environment, free from hatred and bigotry. This is a sanctuary for Jews and allies worldwide to voice their anguish and aspirations without the fear of rebuke or invalidation.

In a world turned upside down where victim is portrayed as aggressor, and a familiar darkness of an anti-Jewish hate has spread around the world, we stand united in the face of discrimination and animosity, championing the cause of healing and empathy for all those impacted by the atrocities of October 7th. This event is an open invitation to individuals from all walks of life who share a commitment to eradicating prejudice and fostering a culture of understanding and mutual respect within our global community. Join us in this vital movement as we strive to offer solace and strength to those seeking refuge from the storm, reaffirming our collective resilience and humanity.
